Postdoctoral opportunity in experimental condensed matter physics to develop a research project on geometrically frustrated magnetic materials, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Rafael Sá de Freitas, at the Institute of Physics at USP, in São Paulo, SP. The selected candidate will receive a scholarship linked to the Thematic Project “Research on quantum materials involving intense magnetic fields and low temperatures.”

The candidate must have or be close to completing a doctorate in physics, chemistry, or materials science, with experience in at least two of the following topics:

– Magnetic materials;

– Low-temperature measurements;

– Use of synchrotron light for advanced structural/compositional analysis;

– Neutron scattering and muon spin spectroscopy;

– Synthesis of polycrystalline and/or single-crystal oxides.

Interested candidates should submit the following documents to Prof. Rafael Sá de Freitas by July 24, 2025: a cover letter and curriculum vitae.

The position is open to Brazilians and international applicants. The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP postdoctoral fellowship of R$12,000.00 per month and a technical reserve equivalent to 10% of the annual fellowship amount to cover unforeseen expenses directly related to the research activity.
