Activities and Context

The postdoctoral fellow will investigate the epigenetic mechanisms underlying adventitious rooting and the “C effect” in forest tree species, integrating genetics, next-generation sequencing (NGS), and bioinformatics. Responsibilities include tissue sampling, DNA extraction, whole-genome bisulfite sequencing (WGBS), epigenomic pipeline development, DMR identification, multi-omics data integration, field experiments, phenotyping, data management, FAPESP reporting, and publication of scientific articles.

Mandatory Requirements

Ph.D. obtained within the last seven years in Forest Science, Forest Engineering, Genetics and Breeding, or related fields.

Experience in molecular biology, nucleic acid extraction, and next-generation sequencing (NGS).

Knowledge of bioinformatics, genetic/genomic data analysis, programming, and pipeline development.

Experience with nursery and field experiments, and ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.

Desirable Requirements

Knowledge of advanced statistical modeling, generalized linear mixed models (REML/BLUP), and integration of omics data.

Aptitude for co-advising undergraduate and graduate students.
