Job Details
The Du Lab at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School is seeking a talented and highly motivated postdoctoral fellow that exhibit excellent communication skills as well as both the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative group. Our multidisciplinary team explores the genetics and mechanisms behind neuroprotection and the formation of cerebral aneurysms. The successful applicant will utilize CRISPR-Cas9 based gene editing technologies to understand the genetic basis of cerebrovascular diseases such as intracranial aneurysms and stroke, and to identify potential interventions with a goal of developing new stroke and aneurysm treatment strategies. Prior lab experience with molecular biology techniques (CRISPR/Cas9) and animal handling is required.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Ph.D. in a relevant subject (e.g. cell and molecular biology, biochemistry, etc.)
Molecular biology (PCR, cloning, genotyping, RNA and DNA isolation, flow cytometry, Western blots, etc.)
Genome editing (CRISPR/Cas9)
Animal handling (experimental procedures, cell preparation, etc.)
Tissue culture (cell lines and primary cells)
Demonstrate independent critical thinking and rigorous work.
Strong record of productivity and good publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
Strong personal skills, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively Prior knowledge of cerebrovascular diseases not required.
