Position Description

The Mathematics Department at North Carolina State University invites applications for multiple two-year postdoctoral positions beginning as early as Spring 2026, with the option to postpone the start date to Fall 2026. The position is renewable for a third year, conditional on satisfactory progress and availability of funding. We are seeking exceptionally well-qualified individuals with research interests compatible with those in the department. Candidates must have obtained a Ph.D. in mathematics/applied mathematics or a closely related field prior to the start date and must demonstrate research excellence, strong oral and written communication skills, and a commitment to effective teaching. In addition to research, the postdoctoral researcher's responsibility will include teaching during the academic year. The number of courses will depend on the budget situation and will be negotiated at the time of hiring.
