About Us
The Njomen Lab is a chemoproteomics-driven chemical biology group in the Department of Chemistry at Duke University. We are advancing the druggability of the human proteome by exploring new chemical space and applying cutting-edge chemoproteomic techniques to uncover ligands and druggable pockets in disease-relevant proteins.
Role Overview
We seek a passionate and skilled Postdoctoral Associate to apply their strong computation skills to cutting edge research in chemoproteomics, chemical biology, and related areas. The interested candidate will work directly with experimental scientists within a wet lab setting to facilitate the management, analysis, and visualization of the mass spectrometry-based proteomic data generated in our chemoproteomics experiments. The postdoctoral associate will be responsible for developing and optimizing custom data analysis and visualization pipelines; and should be prepared to integrate internal experimental data with public protein databases such as UniProt, PDB, Ensembl, BioPlex, DepMap, and others.
Responsibilities : Develop and maintain a centralized proteomics data portal; design and perform computational analyses on the mass spectrometry data generated in on-going and planned proteomic experiments in the lab; maintain subspecialty expertise including literature and participation in journal clubs; collaborate with scientific groups locally, nationally, and internationally; maintain a commitment to laboratory safety; promote a positive laboratory ecosystem; contribute to the mentoring of trainees within the lab; publish peer reviewed manuscripts and contribute to funding proposals.
