Fixed term, full-time opportunity for 12 months.
Join a World-Class Research Team Driving Innovation in Catalysis and Energy Applications
We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Postdoctoral Research Fellow (Level A) to join Professor Shaobin Wang's ARC Laureate Project (FL230100178).
This prestigious Australian Research Council (ARC) Laureate project focuses on the development of advanced nanostructured catalytic materials for cutting-edge applications in water purification and Fenton-like electrochemistry.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to pioneering research in sustainable catalysis and nanomaterials. You will play a key role in designing and synthesizing advanced materials, conducting performance testing, and leading mechanistic studies on electrochemical and catalytic systems. Working as part of a dynamic and collaborative research team, you will also be supported in developing your independent research profile, preparing competitive fellowship applications (e.g., ARC DECRA, NHMRC, and Future Making Fellowship), and expanding your international collaborations.
The role involves engaging in experimental design, operating advanced laboratory instrumentation and analytical equipment, and producing high-quality publications in top-tier journals. You will participate in national and international conferences and meetings, and contribute to the supervision and mentoring of postgraduate students. The successful candidate will also be expected to support administrative and operational tasks in the lab and contribute to a culture of research excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.
To be successful you will need:
Completion of at least four (4) years of tertiary study in the relevant discipline or have equivalent qualifications or research experience in Materials and Chemical Engineering
Evidence of contribution towards research relevant to the materials synthesis, analyses, and performance test, and mechanistic studies of electrochemistry, electro-Fenton processes for sustainable and purification technologies
Experience in contributing towards attending conference and seminars
Experience in publications in high impact journals as first author and co-author
Ability to perform administrative functions in lab/group primarily connected with the area of research in materials, characterisations and analyses
