Position Overview

Essential Job Duties

This position will support a NIIMBL grant. We are seeking to hire a postdoctoral research scholar with experience in liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry to develop LC, LC/MS and LC/MS/MS based methods to characterize protein biotherapeutics (e.g. monoclonal antibodies). Duties and Responsibilities: Candidate will develop LC, LC/MS and LC/MS/MS based methods to characterize protein biotherapeutics (e.g. monoclonal antibodies). The successful candidate will also conduct various proteomic experiments, including protein identification (using both intact mass analysis and peptide mapping), post- translational modification analysis (e.g., glycosylation, disulfide bond) and structural analyses. Additionally, he/she will utilize orthogonal bioanalytical methods to validate results.

Other Work/Responsibilities

He/she will be expected to work within a network of internal and external collaborators, engage stakeholders and display the potential to become a recognized leader in the field.

Requirements and Preferences

Work Schedule Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm ; additional hours as needed including nights and weekends

Department Required Skills

One (1) or more years experience in mass spectrometry is a requirement. Technical skills should include instrument operation (i.e., setup, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting); proteomics sample work up and data analysis/interpretation.

Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education

Candidates with hands-on experience utilizing high resolution mass spectrometry instrumentation for proteomics, glycomics and/or protein characterization are preferred. Candidates with experience utilizing MATLAB, R, Python or similar programming languages for data analysis is strongly preferred. Preferred Skills

· Expertise in structural proteomics

· Experience with Q-Tof and/or triple quad instruments

Experience with Waters Empower, UINIFI, and Watersconnect
