THE UNC NEUROSCIENCE CENTER IS AN INTER-DEPARTMENTAL RESEARCH CENTER AT THE UNC-CHAPEL HILL SCHOOL OF MEDICINE. OUR MISSION IS TO PROMOTE NEUROSCIENCE RESEARCH AT UNC-CHAPEL HILL WITH AN EMPHASIS ON DEVELOPMENTAL, GENETIC, AND DISEASE-RELATED PROCESSES

THE STEIN LAB (STEINLAB.ORG) IS WITHIN THE DEPARTMENT OF GENETICS AND NEUROSCIENCE CENTER AT UNC CHAPEL HILL. THE STEIN LAB SEEKS TO UNDERSTAND THE INFLUENCE OF GENETIC VARIATION ON BRAIN DEVELOPMENT, LEADING TO RISK FOR NEUROPSYCHIATRIC DISORDERS. THE STEIN LAB COMBINES WET LAB BIOLOGY (STEM CELL CULTURE, LIBRARY PREPARATION FOR NEXT GENERATION SEQUENCING) WITH BIOINFORMATICS (GENOME SEQUENCING ANALYSIS AND GENETIC ASSOCIATIONS).

Educational Requirements

Ph.D. or similar degree in the field of genetics, neuroscience, or a similar field.

Qualifications and Experience

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE IN EITHER STEM CELL BIOLOGY OR BIOINFORMATICS IS REQUIRED.
