The School of Mathematics and Statistics is seeking to appoint a Research Associate to work on a project with Dr. EvgenyShinder, which covers key themes such as singularities, derived categories, algebraic K-theory, toric geometry and Fanothreefolds. The post is funded by an EPSRC Standard Grant ``Derived categories and algebraic K-theory of singular varieties’’.
You will have a PhD (or equivalent experience) in pure mathematics, or be close to completion, and have a strong background in algebraic geometry, in particular expertise in some of the following fields: singularities, derived categories, algebraic K-theory, toric geometry, Fanothreefolds. You will also have effective communication skills, both written and verbal and an ability to organise resources, plan and progress work activities, and meet deadlines.
This role is fixed-term for 36 months.
Algebraic Geometry and Mathematical Physics group at the School of Mathematics and Statistics is an active group with five permanent group members and several postdocs and PhD students.
