　　About This Position

　　The Department of Urology and the Interdisciplinary Stem Cell Institute (ISCI) at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine, has an exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Associate. This is a laboratory that is focused on isolating stem cells from organs of the genito-urinary system such as testis, kidney and prostate. This individual will be working on projects that will involve isolating, identifying and characterizing Leydig stem cells from testis and understanding the structural and functional characteristics.

　　The duties and responsibilities for this position may include, but are not limited to:

　　Within the predetermined research scope and methodology, conduct research experiments in the field of genitourinary stem cells

　　Collect and analyze data, including periodical/literature search and utilizing specialized skills in related field to analyze the collected data.

　　Participate/assist in manuscript writing for publication in scientific journals and/or presentations. May also assist in grant writing.

　　Lab maintenance, including equipment maintenance, and ordering of supplies as needed.

　　Other duties as assigned, which may include attending and presenting at Scientific Conferences and Lab Meetings.

　　Minimum Qualifications

　　Ph.D. or other doctoral degree in a life science discipline or M.D. Good laboratory and analytical skills. Prefer some experience in rodent surgery, cell culture, immunofluorescence / qPCR, and measurement of hormone levels (ELISA) in serum and cell culture media. Good communications skills (face to face, over the phone and in writing). Excellent customer service skills. Ability to work collaboratively with other employees. Good organizational skills. Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data. Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems. Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
