Postdoc Research in the area of digitalisation and taxation
Your assignment
For four years, the assignment will consist of scientific research within the research objectives of the Centre of Excellence DigiTax (www. ata- digitax.com). In particular, research should be carried out on the impact of the digital economy and the new business models on the essential characteristics of the current taxation model (including the allocation of tax competences, the levy technique, etc.) and of possible new taxes. This research question requires a horizontal approach taking into account not only the most important existing direct and indirect taxes but also new taxes (such as Google tax or robot tax). On the other hand, the assignment also requires collaboration with the predoctoral researchers of DigiTax. Building on the existing research results, scientific research needs to be conducted into the consequences of the use of new technologies, including blockchain technology, by the tax administration. Finally, the postdoc researcher will have the additional responsibility of ensuring proper transfer of the built-up knowledge to a next generation of researchers.
Your profile
You have a PhD in law
The previous condition is an eligibility condition.
You have a strong background in the broad domain of national and international tax law
You have a specific interest in technology and economics
Experience in conducting interdisciplinary research within an interdisciplinary environment is recommendable.
Your academic qualities comply with the requirements stipulated in the university’s policy.
You are quality-oriented, conscientious, creative and cooperative.
We offer
A full time position as postdoc researcher, in a temporary appointment for a term of four years;
in case of equal qualifications, priority will be given to candidates of the underrepresented gender within the domain of science. This priority is not automatically and unconditionally, as the evaluation will always take into account the personal situation of every candidate;
the data of appointment will be 1 januari 2021 at the earliest;
a full time gross monthly salary ranging from € 4.134,93 - € 6.446,00;
a dynamic and stimulating work environment.
