The Max Planck Institute for Molecular Genetics is an international research institute with approximately 350 employees, working in the field of medical genomics. A special focus lies on genome analysis of humans and other vertebrates.
The Research Group “Gene Regulation and Systems Biology of Cancer” (Head: Dr. Marie-Laure Yaspo), invites applications for the following open position available:
Postdoctoral Researcher (f/m/d)
(TVöD E13)
Code 19-22
Our lab has a long-standing interest in next-generation sequencing applications and omics studies in the fields of genome research, cancer omics and translational medicine. The laboratory is interested in investigating the molecular basis of several cancer types, including melanoma, colon, prostate cancer and leukemias and understanding the contribution of their microenvironment. The project will focus on pediatric cancer,s within the framework of an international consortium, for establishing and analyzing CRISPR-based functional screens in the aim to dissect and model cancer pathways for identifying novel predictive biomarkers and targets for therapeutic intervention.
Qualifications:
The candidate must have a Ph.D. in the area of molecular biology, biochemistry or cell biology. The candidate will preferably have hands-on experience with cell biology or molecular genetics and CRISPR-based technologies. Basic bioinformatics knowledge would be a plus. Candidates should be team-oriented, have strong communication skills, and a demonstrated record of scientific achievement through peer-reviewed publications. Candidaes should be independent and able to lead a research project in the laboratory.
The position is offered initially for two years with the possibility of extension.
