  美国斯隆·凯特林纪念癌症中心(MSKCC)博士后职位

The Niethammer lab at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York seeks two new postdoctoral scholars/fellows that are passionate about technical innovation and biological insight to explore out-of-the-box questions in the field of wound healing and tissue regeneration. Applicants from all basic fields of biology and biophysics are welcome to apply.

The Niethammer lab studies how tissue damage rapidly elicits inflammatory, healing, and regenerative responses. To investigate these mechanisms, we combine intravital imaging of transparent zebrafish larvae, a powerful animal model for wound healing and innate immunity, with current genomic, epigenomic, biochemical and biophysical techniques (e.g., Niethammer et al., Nature, 2009; Enyedi et al., Nature Cell Biology, 2013; Enyedi et al., Cell, 2016; Huang et al, Immunity, 2018). Our technical scope is broad, and we have a track record of developing novel, quantitative imaging tools to be applied in intact animals. In the recent past, this allowed us to uncover novel roles for reactive oxygens species, nuclear membrane mechanics and lipid signaling in early tissue damage responses. Currently, we are exploring how these pathways are integrated to regulate tissue inflammation, healing, regeneration, and cancer. Various projects in these areas are available. Further details are available on request.

  Applicants should

  ·         be within one year of obtaining their PhD.

  ·         have good English language skills.

  ·         have a documented track record of basic biological interest, experimental rigor and productivity (at least one published/accepted peer reviewed article in well-reputed basic biology journal (e.g., society journal, etc.). The positions are not suited for fellows primarily interested and experienced in translational research.

  ·         arrange for 2-3 reference letters from previous mentors.

  ·         provide a letter of intent that specifies their future goals, and motivation to apply to this lab.

  The position offers

  ·         A vibrant and stimulating, international research environment with many opportunities for career development and scientific networking and collaboration.

  ·         Stable funding for at least two years with possibility of extension pending on project development and productivity.

  ·         A competitive salary and benefits package (incl. subsidized Manhattan housing). For details, please refer to MSKCC webpage.
