The main activities will be: analysis of data collected by the CMS experiment statistical interpretation of the data study of the parameters of detector to be installed at FCCee presentation and writing of results

The successful candidate for this post-doctoral contract will be interested in the measure the Higgs boson self-coupling at the LHC and the perspectives at the HL-LHC and FCC future collider. The candidate will have the opportunity to participate to the Higgs boson pair production analysis using the Run3 LHC collision data collected by the CMS experiment and contribute to technical studies laying the groundwork for a detector for the proposed FCC-ee collider.

The LeprinceRinguet laboratory is located at the EcolePolytechnique campus in Palaiseau. This is a joint CNRS-EcolePolytechnique unit of about 120 people is involved in two fields of research that support each other both conceptually and technically: very high energy gamma-ray astronomy and particle physics. At the frontier of technologies, these activities are developed in an international framework and the installations are located in various regions of the world (https:// llr.in2p3.fr).

The LLR CMS group is a founding member of the CMS collaboration. The group is one of the key actors in the discovery of a Higgs boson and the measurement of its properties. The group is also strongly involved in the developments for the LHC Phase 2 upgrades. The FCC/CALICE group is a pioneer in the development of electromagnetic calorimeters for particle flow for future Higgs factories.

Eligibility criteria

Education: PhD in experimental particle physics. Programming : python, C++ and ROOT. Languages: fluent in written and spoken English, C1/C2 level Good communication skills and ability to work in a tea
