The candidate will work on subjects related to the CRC 1245, in particular on the planning, preparation, execution and analysis of basic research experiments involving electron and photon beams at the photon tagger NEPTUN of the superconducting electron accelerator S-DALINAC. The work will focus on the accurate determination of the dipole strength in atomic nuclei and the extraction of the dipole polarizability.

The candidate will also support teaching in general and the supervision of M.Sc. and B.Sc. students in the involved research groups. Furthermore, the research results should be prepared and presented in international research journals and at international conferences.

Candidates are required to have a Ph.D. degree in the field of experimental nuclear structure physics. Furthermore some experience with experiments involving accelerator facilities is beneficial. In addition the candidate should be familiar with the simulation and modeling of the the experimental setup.

The fulfillment of the duties likewise enables the scientific qualifications of the candidate.
