德国亥姆霍兹重离子研究中心(GSI )ASIC设计博士后研究员

Postdoctoral Researcher For ASIC Design (All Genders) Ref. No.: 21.35-6530

GSI Helmholtzzentrum For Schwerionenforschung

Description

GSI HelmholtzzentrumfürSchwerionenforschung in Darmstadt operates one of the leading particle accelerators for science. In the next few years, the new FAIR ( F acility for A ntiproton and I on R esearch) one of the world's largest research projects, will be built in international cooperation. GSI and FAIR offer the opportunity to work together in this international environment with a team of employees committed to ensuring each day to conduct world-class science.

For our division “ Detector Laboratory ” (DTL), we are looking for a

Postdoctoral Researcher for ASIC design (all genders)

Reference: 21.35-6530

for the readout of Low Gain Avalanche Detectors (LGAD) to realize a 4D tracking system.

Your tasks:

In the framework of TANGERINE project, an initiative for innovation of GSI and the Helmholtz Association, we can offer a Postdoc position for ASIC design. The successful candidate will work embedded in the ASIC design team of TU Darmstadt, Prof. Hofmann, and develop an analog front end together with a time to digital solution in 65nm TSMC that will serve to read out LGAD-strip sensors with a timing resolution of just tens of ps.

Within this work at GSI/TU Darmstadt, the activities will be focused on planning and designing the ASIC concept including the full chain layout simulation. As a part of this project, it is necessary to plan and coordinate the quality tests of the produced chips.

In order to archive rapid progress, close cooperation between various experimental groups from GSI and TU Darmstadt is foreseen.

Your skills:

For this position, we are looking for a Postdoctoral Scientist with a PhD in Physics or Electrical Engineering, with profound ASIC simulation and design skills, practical knowledge of the principles of operation of charges particles detectors and experience in testing complex readout systems.

For any questions, please contact Dr. Jerzy Pietraszko (J.Pietraszko(at)gsi.de) or Dr. Christian J. Schmidt (C.J.Schmidt(at)gsi.de)

The position initially is limited to 2 years. Salary is equivalent to that for public employees as specified in the collective agreement for public employees (TVöD Bund).

GSI supports the vocational development of women. Therefore, women are especially encouraged to apply for the position.

Severely handicapped persons will be preferentially considered, if equally qualified and suited for work at the test benches.
