Essential Job Duties
The Department of Business Management in the Poole College of Management houses faculty specializing in the areas of analytics, finance, information technology, marketing, and supply chain management. The postdoc position will be part of a cross-functional, academic research team examining how to develop a transparency mechanism to promote ethical production in global supply chains. The team consists of faculty and graduate students from the Poole College of Management and the Wilson College of Textiles. The postdoc's specific duties will focus on working with a faculty member to study how best to communicate ethical production practices to relevant stakeholders (e.g., consumers) of a supply chain and to examine these stakeholders' valuations and perceptions of transparency. Duties will include (but are not limited to), performing academic literature reviews and market research; designing, conducting, and analyzing online, lab, and/or field experiments; identifying, collecting, and analyzing relevant archival or observational data; regularly meeting with and reporting out to the research team; working with the project's industry advisory panel, and helping to prepare quarterly progress reports for the grant funder. The postdoc will be expected to help disseminate the findings from the research through co-authored academic papers and practitioner articles, media postings, and both industry and academic conference presentations. The postdoc will receive regular mentorship and training from the research team. This is a full-time research position, with funding for 2 years (assuming the candidate meets performance expectations and is renewed after the first year). Candidates seeking a two-year position are preferred. The position is funded by a three-year grant received from the Templeton World Charity Foundation. Title and compensation will be based on the candidate's experience and credentials.
Other Work/Responsibilities
While the position does not have any service requirements, the selected candidate will be encouraged and expected to be a contributing member of the Operations and Supply Chain group within Poole, as well as, interact with the Wilson College of Textiles.
Work Schedule Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm; evening and weekend hours as needed.
Department Required Skills
Minimum of a Ph.D. (or soon to be completed Ph.D.) in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Analytics, Marketing, or a related field is required.
Title/Rank is commensurate with a degree earned (course level and content).
Applicants must have experience conducting high-quality, empirical research. A background in behavioral research (designing, conducting, and analyzing online, lab/field studies), econometric methods, as well as, a knowledge of R, Stata, or an equivalent statistical software package is required.

Experience with sustainability and/or supply chain-related research would be beneficial, but is not required.
