The Experimental High Energy Physics group at the University of Mississippi invites applicants for a postdoctoral research position to work on the Belle II experiment. The successful candidate is expected to participate in data analysis including, but not limited to, charm physics and CP violation and also contribute to Belle II distributed computing development and operations. The position will be based in Oxford, MS, with travel to KEK (Japan) as needed.

The Belle II experiment, based at the SuperKEKB accelerator facility, has recently started collecting collision data. The projected total data set of 50/ab will allow for precision tests of the Standard Model in heavy flavor physics and searches for new and suppressed phenomena.

The position is available to start immediately and is renewable annually contingent on satisfactory performance and availability of funds. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled or an adequate pool is obtained.

Minimum Education/Experience

A Ph.D. in experimental particle physics is required by the time of the initial appointment. Programming experience with Python and C++ is preferred.
