德国弗莱堡大学液态电池电化学(扫描)透射电镜(EChem-STEM)项目博士后职位

Postdoc position in the field of liquid cell electrochemical (scanning) transmission electron microscopy (EChem-STEM)

University of Freiburg (Uni Freiburg)

Consider making the switch to the University of Freiburg: It is one of the most renowned and strongest research universities in Germany, with a history spanning more than 500 years. You’ll engage in top-notch research and teaching with a unique spectrum of disciplines, perspectives, and people – right in the heart of one of Germany’s most beautiful cities. The University of Freiburg’s human resources policy is oriented toward the principles of equal opportunity and diversity. The university is committed to the goal of creating a family-friendly university.

Applications are invited for a postdoc position (starting as soon as possible) to work in the Fischer group at the University of Freiburg (Germany). The Fischer group conducts research on nanostructured materials for electrochemical energy conversion and storage at the Institute for Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry (IAAC), the Freiburg Materials Research Center (FMF), the Freiburg Center for interactive Materials and bioinspired Technologies (FIT) and the DFG excellence cluster Living, Adaptive and Energy-autonomous materials systems (livMatS). The position (2 years with possible extension up to 5 years after positive evaluation) is funded via the VolkswagenStiftung Momentum grant of Prof. Dr. Anna Fischer. The aims of the project are a) the implementation and b) the application of in situ liquid cell electrochemical (scanning) transmission electron microscopy (EChem-(S)TEM) at the Fischer lab and at the core facility Imaging of Materials Systems to study the dynamics of electrochemical energy materials (primarily electrocatalysts but battery materials are not excluded) under electrochemical conditions.

Applicants should have a PhD in Chemistry, Material Science, Nanoscience, Physics or a closely related discipline. A strong background in working with electrochemistry for energy applications as well as with transmission electron microscopy is highly desired for the position. Applicants should have experience in coordinating activities as part of an interdisciplinary team and fit into an international, collaborative and dynamic research environment. A strong publication record as well as excellent communication (English), scientific writing and management skills are expected. Successful candidates are also expected to help guide undergraduate and postgraduate students as well as taking on laboratory management duties.
