德国达姆施塔特工业大学流体动力学博士后职位

Wiss. Mitarbeiter_in (W/M/D)

Darmstadt University Of Technology

Description

The Geothermal Science and Technology group (Prof. Dr. Ingo Sass) at the Department of Materials- and Earthsciences, Technical University of Darmstadt, invites applications for the position of a

Researcher – 60%

starting as soon as possible, with a fixed-term contract limited until October 31, 2021.

The vacancy is part of the FiF project: `Hydrogen storage in saline aquifers: using diffusion coefficient values from molecular dynamics simulation to track injected gas´

The main goal of the project is to examine the efficiency of the hydrogen storage in saline aquifers with focus on the tracking injected gas movement inside brine saturated porous media. The process will be examined in two-phase and multicomponent framework in which the required parameters for mass transfer will be obtained through the molecular dynamics simulations approach with the partner group in the chemistry department.

Your duties:

  Building numerical models with collaboration of involved members for the viscous fingering phenomenon (ready models are available for single component gas mixture in COMSOL)

  Simulation of the dissolution process of the H2 + cushion gas in brine saturated porous media (ready models are available for CO2 + impurity in COMSOL and should be tuned for H2)

  Examining the thermo-hydro-mechanical behavior of the system (ready models are available for water injection process in COMSOL)

  Presentation of results at project meetings and scientific conferences

  Publication of research results in peer-reviewed scientific journals

Skills and qualifications:

  Completed university degree (M.Sc.) appropriate to the field of research

  Background in fluid dynamics or related fields

  References in numerical modelling of fluid injection processes

  Advanced knowledge in COMSOL Multiphysics

  Skills in interdisciplinary, on-time, goal- and team-oriented work

  High proficiency in German andor English

Further desirable skills and qualifications:

Knowledge in reservoir characterization, rock mechanics, petrophysics, geo- and hydrochemistry

We offer a professional work environment and support our staff in the acquisition of external funds and provide many opportunities to work with international collaboration partners from academia and industry through our joint research projects and international collaborations. Modern computer and laboratory equipment is provided.

The fulfillment of the duties likewise enables the scientific qualifications of the candidate.

The Technische Universität Darmstadt intends to increase the number of female employees and encourages female candidates to apply. In case of equal qualifications applicants with a degree of disability of at least 50 or equal will be given preference. Wages and salaries are according to the collective agreements on salary scales, which apply to the Technische Universität Darmstadt (TV-TU Darmstadt).

By submitting your application, you agree that your data may be stored and processed for the purpose of filling the vacancy. Here you can find our privacy policy.

Please send your application including a letter of motivation, a CV, and relevant certificates (all in one single pdf file) to Mrs. Simone Roß- Krichbaum, Sekretariat Angewandte Geothermie (ross-krichbaum@geo.tu- darmstadt.de) referring to FiF and the given Code-No.
