Yang Laboratory at Harvard School of Dental Medicine

A post-doctoral position is available in the Yang lab based in the Department of Developmental Biology at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine.

The laboratory of Dr. Yingzi Yang has a longstanding and intense interest in defining the functional mechanisms of Wnt, Hippo, and Hedgehog signaling pathways in development and disease pathogenesis including cancer. We are recruiting a motivated postdoctoral fellow to conduct bone or liver research. We use molecular, biochemistry/cell biology and genomic approaches in both mouse models and human specimens. Our research also involves cutting-edge imaging techniques and liver tumor models. Candidates with strong training in the areas of signal transduction, mechanotransduction, liver tumor microenvironment and mouse genetics are particularly encouraged to apply. The positions are funded by NIH and Harvard University.

Duties and responsibilities of the successful candidate will include: • strong abilities to work independently and with self-initiative; • abilities to vigorously pursue scientific projects, both conceptually and experimentally, with pro-active thinking and action; • collaboration with other research staff, supervision and training of lab members; • writing and editing of manuscripts, research presentations at departmental seminars and scientific meetings.

Salary will follow NIH and university guidelines.

This position is granted funded and reappointed annually.

Basic Qualifications

The candidate should have a PhD degree in biomedical sciences with less than 3 years of postdoctoral experience and a proven record of scientific productivity. Basic skills in molecular biology, genetics and cell biology are required.
