POSTDOCTORAL POSITION IN CANCER BIOLOGY
(PHILADELPHIA, PA, USA)
The Font-Burgada lab is currently seeking a creative individual who matches our passion for research, innate
curiosity and self-motivation. Our lab offers an exciting opportunity to work in a closely collaborative, inspiring
and dynamic environment.
Our lab is interested in a wide variety of fundamental unresolved questions in Cancer Biology. We primarily use
the liver as a model organ to investigate how tissue damage and aging interrelates with regenerative capacity
decline and increased cancer risk. We use state of the art in vivo cell tracking techniques, single cell RNAseq,
in vitro organoid systems and Bioinformatics as a broad tool palette to reveal new insights in cancer development
with the end goal of aiding in the generation of curative therapeutics. If you would like to learn more about our
research, please visit our lab website (http://labs.fccc.edu/font-burgada/).
Fox Chase Cancer Center (FCCC) is a National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated Comprehensive Cancer
Center, one of only 41 centers in the country to qualify for this highest level of designation. As a result, Fox
Chase physicians and researchers in the biomedical sciences are frequently involved in setting new guidelines
for breakthrough medicine and comprehensive care. FCCC is well known for its groundbreaking research and
is home to two Nobel laureates and a Kyoto Prize winner. It has been repeatedly named in Scientist magazine
as one of the best places for post-docs to work.
Applicants should have an MD and/or PhD (or equivalent) degree, and preferably experimental background
working with any of the areas mentioned above. Although not a requirement, less than a year of postdoctoral
experience and records that show applicants ability to be funded will be positively considered.
If you believe our lab is well suited for your career development, please send 1) your CV, 2) a brief cover letter
describing your expertise and scientific interests, and 3) name and contact information of two references to
