Job Description

Position Description

Argonne National Laboratory is seeking a dynamic and technically strong Postdoctoral Researcher in the area of life cycle analysis. The position is in the Systems Assessment Center in the Energy Systems Division. The Systems Assessment Center continues a 30-year history of leadership in the field of life cycle analysis. Postdoctoral Researchers will join project teams including experts in a variety of topics relevant to their work and will regularly collaborate with experts from Argonne as well as in industry and at other national laboratories. The Systems Assessment Center develops and maintains the Greenhouse Gases, Regulated Emissions, and Energy Use in Technology (GREET) model which is widely used by government, industry, and academic stakeholders to provide objective and rigorous results (see http://greet.es.anl.gov).

The Postdoctoral Researcher will work to develop a Middle East and North Africa (MENA) version of Argonne’s GREET life-cycle analysis model (MENA-GREET). The Postdoctoral Researcher will collect and synthesize data of the transportation sector and the energy sector in the Middle East and North Africa, process large datasets to extract meaningful results, develop the MENA-GREET with relevant datasets and model configurations, and present results through well-designed presentations, technical reports, and journal articles. The Researcher will interact with other GREET team members for GREET life-cycle analysis applications in North America, China and other regions to benefit MENA-GREET development and applications. The Researcher will interact with international agencies and corporations for life-cycle analysis of transportation fuels, vehicle technologies, and energy systems in the Middle East and North Africa.
