  Job Description

Position Highlights The Laboratory for Interface Science of Printable Electronic Materials (LISPEM), directed by Professor Erin Ratcliff in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Arizona (ratcliff.faculty.arizona.edu), seeks applicants for a postdoctoral scholar working in the field of semiconductor electrochemistry. Project goals focus on mechanism understanding of charge transfer at printable semiconductor/electrolyte interfaces - including organics, nanoparticles, and perovskite films - using a combination of spectroscopic, electrochemical, and microscopy approaches.

The duration of the initial appointment will be for one year. The position can be renewable based on research productivity, performance and funding

Outstanding UA benefits include health, dental, vision, and life insurance; paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays; UA/ASU/NAU tuition reduction for the employee and qualified family members; access to UA recreation and cultural activities; and more!

The University of Arizona has been recognized for our innovative work‐life programs. For more information about working at the University of Arizona and relocations services, please click here.

  Duties & Responsibilities

The postdoctoral scholar will be expected to take a leading role in the use and development of spectroscopic and spectroelectrochemical techniques to investigate structure-property relationships at semiconductor/electrolyte interfaces.

The postdoc is expected to actively participate in the dissemination of research findings through weekly meetings with the PI and other group members, author monthly reports, publish in top journals, and aid in the training of graduate and undergraduate students.

  Minimum Qualifications

The candidate must hold a PhD in chemistry, physics, or materials science (or similar field) at the start date.

A strong background in fundamental electrochemistry and electrochemical methods is preferred.

Candidates must have demonstrated experience working in a wet lab of materials or chemistry ,with a background in surface electrochemical and electroanaltyical methods of semiconductor systems.

Applicants must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Preferred Qualifications The ideal candidate will have a background in printed electronics, such as organic semiconductors and/or perovskite materials, with a track record of peer-reviewed publications. Special attention to knowledge of coupled electrochemical and charge transport properties is ideal. Demonstration of multiple spectroelectrochemical techniques and/or scanning probe techniques is highly desired. Demonstration of interpretation of electrochemical impedance spectroscopy is preferred. Experience with photoelectron spectroscopy and x-ray scattering is desired but not required.
