  丹麦技术大学油气腐蚀研究博士后招聘

The Materials and Surface Engineering section in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Technical University of Denmark are seeking candidate for one Post-doctoral Researcher position in the field of “Corrosion in the Oil and Gas Industry”. Position is suitable for an experienced post-doc. Position is for 3 years and expected to start from the 1 September 2020.

Corrosion in the oil and gas industry is a serious issue that results in decreased production and high operational costs. Corrosion behaviour of production pipes depend on many operational parameters (e.g. CO2, H2S, pressure, temperature, interventions) and material variables (e.g. microstructure, chemical composition). Consequently, due to complex environment and synergistic effects, more than one mechanism is likely to be responsible for enhanced corrosion degradation and ultimate failure of the pipes.

  Responsibilities and tasks

Research activities in this Post-doc position will focus on basic mechanistic understanding on the initiation and progress of various corrosion modes found in oil & gas applications, corrosion scale development, inhibitor effect etc. Idea is to develop in-situ analysis methods e.g. in-situ flow cells suitable for simulating various oil & gas conditions, while the analytical tools will be in-situ X-ray and Synchrotron tomographic methods, Synchrotron surface analysis methods, and lab scale electrochemical methods with possibility for in-situ observations and local electrochemical methods such SECM. In-situ imaging and analysis methods will be combined with electrochemical methods such as DC electrochemistry and AC electrochemical impedance spectroscopy.

  Qualifications

Candidates for the position should have a PhD degree in Materials and Corrosion area.  Prior oil&gas corrosion related research experience and research experience in the area of analytical methods such as synchrotron techniques are preferable. It is expected that the candidates have good communication skills, can pro-actively engage and co-supervise PhD students.

  Application procedure

To apply, please read the full job advertisement at www.career.dtu.dk.

  Application deadline: 20 June 2020.
