　　Job Description

　　Summary

　　This research intensive position is for a postdoctoral associate with experience working on the neuromuscular junction.  A PhD is required, with prior experience working on questions related to assembly and function of the neuromuscular junction in both health and disease.  The successful applicant will be responsible for running and developing research experiments, maintaining genetically modified mouse lines, writing research papers, and training graduate and undergraduate students in methods related to the neuromuscular junction.

　　Job Purpose

　　Postdoctoral Associates are trainees working in an apprenticeship mode in preparation for a career as a scientific professional.

　　Job Duties

　　·         Plans, directs and conducts specialized and advanced research experiments.

　　·         Evaluates and analyzes data.

　　·         May establish new research protocols and procedures.

　　·         Summarizes research findings and publish results in research journals.

　　·         May be responsible for laboratory operations.

　　·         May supervise research staff.

　　Minimum Qualifications

　　·         Education Required: Ph.D in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
