  Position DescriptionDepartment Overview: The Office for Global and Community Health (OGCH) supports and coordinates Harvard School of Dental Medicine’s (HSDM) initiatives locally and around the world. We work with both faculty and students to promote public health dentistry, raise awareness, and alleviate disease burden through innovative student and faculty programs. Position Overview: OGCH is seeking a Research Fellow statistician to work on a variety of research projects and tasks. In this position, the candidate will be responsible for managing and analyzing large electronic health record datasets, and conducting health outcomes research to guide the development, evaluation, and utilization of claims datasets and simulation models that improve quality and effectiveness of public health interventions. The candidate will work as part of an interdisciplinary team of clinical and public health professionals contributing to the design of studies, performing statistical analysis, interpreting data, and preparing oral and written scientific reports. The selected candidate will be expected to provide scientific expertise and engage directly in research and methods development with faculty, program directors, and postdoctoral fellows to collaborate in solving important scientific problems related to the school’s mission. This position has a term appointment of one year from the date of hire with the possibility for extension.   Basic QualificationsA graduate degree at the Master’s level or higher is required in statistics, computer science, or other relevant field.

  Additional QualificationsPhD or DMD preferred. Experience with data analysis and statistical/programming packages (SQL, R, and Linux) preferred. Some prior research experience in public health preferred.
