Our group at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner Research Institute Cancer Biology Department is seeking a highly motivated post-doctoral fellow to join our studies to develop novel treatment and treatment prediction markers in multiple myeloma.
Our laboratory focuses on the critical chromosomal translocations that drive multiple myeloma development, precision medicine, and disparities. Via mechanistic dissection of B cell Class Switch Recombination (CSR) especially the error prone alternative NHEJpathway and/or somatic hyper mutation (SHM) pathway regulated by AID, we aim to develop novel therapeutic targets and treatment approaches and to identify biomarkers of response to targeted therapy. All projects involve conditional transgenic and xenograft mouse models of multiple myeloma and clinical validation of laboratory findings patient’s samples from multiple myeloma tissue bank and ongoing clinical trials.
The position will provide a unique and multidisciplinary exposure to preclinical mouse models, molecular oncology, immune therapy, drug development and clinical trials. Further details are available at: https://www.lerner.ccf.org/cancerbio/zhao/
The ideal candidate has a Ph.D. or M.D. degree in biochemistry, clinical medicine, or molecular biology; has the appropriate expertise in mouse model is highly encouraged to apply.
