A post-doc position is available to join a team of researchers in Bristol investigating how inflammatory cells are recruited to sites of tissue damage. Experiments will include live-imaging, molecular biology, FACS and epigenetic/transcriptomic analysis, as well as mathematical modelling of inflammatory cell migration in Drosophila models of wound inflammation.
You will join. the lab of Professor Paul Martin, (http://www.bris.ac.uk/biochemistry/people/paul-b-martin/index.html). The role will involve the day-to-day running of the project, performing a range of research tasks, collaborating with other RAs, and assisting with training and supervision of postgraduate members of the lab.
A PhD (awarded or imminent) in a biological or biomedical science is essential and the successful candidate should have prior experience of working with Drosophila. Knowledge of tissue repair/regeneration or inflammation is highly desirable but not essential. You will be highly organised, eager to learn new skills, ambitious, and able to interact with a broad range of colleagues. The funds for this position are available for up to 5 years.
