Postdoctoral Fellow
The full-time position is available as soon as possible for a period of 3 years, if no former times of qualification must be considered and is with salary and benefits commensurate with a public service position in the state Hesse, Germany (TV-H E13, 100 %).
The institute is active in our life science research focus on cancer and investigating the tumor suppressor p53 and the role of p53 mutations on tumor progression and cancer therapy. The successful applicant will be working in the project “Functional annotation of the TP53 mutome by CRISPR/Cas9-based saturating mutagenesis“ funded by the German Research Foundation.
The position will be filled by a temporary contract that is limited to the period which is necessary to gain further scientific expertise (such as the preparation for a subsequent qualification period). Within the entrusted tasks the opportunity for independent scientific work to obtain further personal qualification is given. The limitation of the contract complies to § 2 Abs. 1 WissZeitVG.
Applicants must have a degree (Master / Diploma) in biomedical sciences and an excellent doctorate / PhD preferably in the field of cancer research. The candidate is expected to have in-depth knowledge and practical experience in genome engineering and transcriptomics (bulk and single-cell RNAseq). Basic knowledge of bioinformatics is helpful. An excellent scientific profile, supported by a publication record, is expected, as is the willingness to work in an international team of highly motivated scientists.
