  俄克拉何马大学化学、生物化学、生物学博士后招聘

  Postdoctoral Researcher

The laboratories of Luca Fornelli and Ashlee Rowe, Departments of Biology and Chemistry, University of Oklahoma, seek a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to conduct top-down proteomic analyses. This position offers the possibility of joining a multidiscipllinary team using a structural biology approach and state-of-the-art FTMSinstrumentation (i.e., Tribrid Orbitrap mass spectrometer) to address cutting edge questions in neurobiology and cancer research. Responsibilities include all aspects of the proteomic project, ranging from experimental design to data collection and analysis.

The main objective of the research project (funded through an NIH Center grant to the Structural Biology group, Department of Chemistry) is to characterize proteins that inhibit ion channels regulating the mammalian pain pathway. In addition, collaborations with the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center and the Stephenson Cancer Center will provide the postdoc with opportunities to work in the field of translational proteomics, broadening the research experience within a highly dynamic environment. The successful candidate will also be encouraged to develop new methodologies in top-down proteomics.

  Job requirements:

  • PhD in chemistry, biochemistry, biology or related field.

  Skills:

  • Experience in proteomics and the use of liquid chromatography coupled to high-resolution mass spectrometry.

  • Team player with good communication skills, and ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment.

  • The ability to assist with the training of undergrad/graduate students.

  • Knowledge of Orbitrap FTMS technology and top-down proteomics.
