　　Summary

　　The Huffington Center on Aging at the Baylor College of Medicine is currently recruiting a Postdoctoral Associate with backgrounds in retina research and neuroscience to work in our laboratory. The laboratory is NIH-funded with stable funding support. We seek to understand synaptic development, maintenance and translational applications in neural diseases. We discover molecules that control neural identity and synaptic partner choice and to understand how disruptions these choices may contribute the processes of aging and disease. We have uncovered several pathways involved in this process, including those in energy homeostasis and microglia regulation. Ongoing projects are aimed at deciphering these mechanisms and understanding their impact on neural wiring and function.

　　Job Responsibilities

　　Plans, directs and conducts specialized and advanced research experiments.

　　Evaluates and analyzes data.

　　May establish new research protocols and procedures.

　　Summarizes research findings and publish results in research journals.

　　May be responsible for laboratory operations.

　　May supervise research staff.

　　Minimum Qualifications

　　Education: Ph.D in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
