　　Skeletal Stem Cells and Spine Fusion

　　A postdoctoral position is available to study stem cells and molecular pathways that promote bone healing and spine fusion. This collaborative project between the Spine Translational Research Laboratory at HSS and Dr. Matthew Greenblatt’s Lab at adjacent Weill Cornell Medicine will utilize mouse models of spine fusion, cutting edge molecular and genomic approaches, and analysis of patient samples. The Spine Translational Research Laboratory focuses on mechanisms underlying spine fusion and identifying new therapeutic agents to improve surgical outcomes. Dr. Greenlatt’s lab (greenblattlab.com) uses mouse genetics, flow cytometry, lineage tracking and single cell RNA sequencing to study skeletal stem cells and bone anabolism.

　　The Hospital for Special Surgery is affiliated with and adjacent to Weill Cornell Medical College and embedded in a vibrant research environment encompassing Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Rockefeller University.

　　A Ph.D. degree in bone biology, cell or molecular biology or related fields is required. Experience in models of musculoskeletal tissue injury and repair would be helpful.
