Morehouse School of Medicine is seeking a post-doctoral fellow to join our team in the Neuroscience Institute (NSI); investigating the interactions of RNA binding proteins and their role in neuronal development.
The lab is interested in how RMNA binding proteins regulate neuronal development and morphological changes in disease.
Minimum Qualifications
Advanced degree (PhD or equivalent) in a biology or health science discipline and appropriate research experience. Degree must be from a regionally accredited college or university.
The ideal candidate would have experience in multiple molecular/ cellular biology skills including fluorescence microscopy, si-RNA mediated target expression knock down, RIP-Seq, RNA-Seq, Bioinformatics, primary neuronal and iPS culture. Further expertise in R or Python based data analysis is desirable.
The candidate should be a team player, capable of working in a team, as well as show initiative and independence. The candidate should have excellent communication, time-management and leadership skills, and will be expected to work with a degree of independence.
Preferred Qualifications
Excellence in research as shown by publications in quality journals.

Job Duties
Description of Job Duty
Direct responsibility for running the project (daily basis), which includes design, execution, and analysis of the data acquired.
Disseminate results at conferences and in journal publications.
Develop own line of research with potential for future funding.
In addition to performing the above duties, the candidate will be expected to assist the PI in overseeing laboratory activities, supervising trainees, and writing grants and publications.
