荷兰瓦格宁根大学数据科学博士后招聘
Are you ready for the next step after your PhD? Are you interested in data science? We offer you a great opportunity to further develop your career.
We are looking for a Post-doc digital twin methodology development for biological systems In this framework, your role as a postdoctoral researcher will be to support the development of the flagship digital twins, as part of the methodology platform. Partly this will be by contributing to the exploration of ways in which digital twins can innovate research at Wageningen UR, that is to explore possibilities and specific needs related to twinning processes that include biological systems. In such systems there are restrictions on what can be measured, and internal biological processes are not always known in detail needed for building the twin. This implies that often methods for using proxy measurements need to be included, and that important parameters of the twin may be updated after initial builds. In addition, it includes what the mechanism or mechanisms might be used to feed back the data that are generated in operating the digital twin into the process itself. The activities will include a strong collaboration with a post-doc looking at inclusiveness issues that should result in jointly formulated guidelines for the development of DTs in the field of life sciences within the domains of Wageningen University & Research. These guidelines should include societal and ethical aspects as well as aspects on biological phenomena related to the collection of DT-related data. The main tasks of the post-doc will be to review approaches in building Digital Twins that include biological components, and that are specific for application areas relevant for Wageningen University & Resrach. In addition a toolbox will be developed which aids in the development of digital twins in terms of data processing, data integration with existing models combined with uncertainty information of functions present in biological systems. Wageningen University & Research is investing in knowledge on building digital twins, virtual representations that track the life-cycle of a specific organism or biological phenomenon. Digital twins have been mostly developed in engineering applications, where the system that is twinned is 'man-made'. However, Wageningen University & Research is working on ways to build twins for biological systems. The main goal in creating digital twins is to mimic interactions between processes and explore interventions. To achieve this goal, the programme will bring together versatile, multi-scale data (from remote sensing, IoT sensors, management systems) and process-based models in a common infrastructure. It also includes research into how machine learning and deep learning can improve the performance of the digital twins. Your overarching ambition will be a methodological contribution to the development of the digital twins in the WUR domain of activity and, initially, more specifically, the digital twins of the flagship projects. The three flagship projects, developing a digital twin in a certain area of interest to Wageningen University & Research, are underway. These projects are supported by two platforms, on inclusiveness and methodology.
