Postdoc Position In Electric Power Engineering With Specialization Electricity Networks

Subject description Electric power engineering covers studies of sustainable systems for production of electrical energy, transport of electrical energy and the interaction between the power grid, electricity production and electricity consumption.

Project description We are recruiting a postdoctoral researcher to further develop and, above all, broaden our research. You will initiate and carry out research in "Design and operation of low, medium and sub-transmission grids". Your research direction shows just limited overlap with the current research areas in the group, but you show flexibility and are willing to contribute to the existing research areas as well.

You will work in a successful team of doctoral students and senior researchers, where collaboration and support are key words. Your research focus should include how (future) electricity networks will be affected by developments such as power electronics, electricity markets and smart grids, but these should not be the main direction. The goal of your research is to become a world leader, but also to be able to transfer your results to undergraduate education and to industry.

You are able to contribute to our undergraduate education in Electrical Engineering, which is given in Swedish, or you are prepared to develop this within a year or so.

Duties Primarily duties as a postdoctoral researcher are to perform research and education to prepare for future positions within the academy.

Qualifications We are looking for a skilled, analytical and motivated colleague who will be able to initiate and carry out research at a world-leading level, both independently and in collaboration with others in the research group.

The qualified background for applicants is a doctoral degree in Electric Power Engineering or equivalent. Priority is given to candidates who have completed a doctoral degree within three years before the application date. The applicant must have proven competence in the field according to the Project description, above, or a good plan to develop this.

The candidate must be able to express themselves in English, at advanced level, in writing and orally; the ability to teach in undergraduate education, given in Swedish, is considered an important merit.
