The Chair for ‘Urban water management’ of the University of Luxembourg (Prof. Dr. Joachim Hansen) is a strong and motivated research team that gives special emphasis on fate and behavior of Micropollutants in the urban water cycle, the increase of energy efficiency of wastewater treatment processes and Sustainable Management of water and resources. Within the last years, numerous interdisciplinary projects were carried out in these topics together with national and international partners.
The University of Luxembourg invites applications for the following vacancy in its Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine:
Postdoctoral researcher in Engineering Science
Your Role
· Working on international research projects
· Contributing to teaching
· Assistance in PhD student supervision
· Writing of grant applications, project reports, and scientific papers
· Close collaboration and knowledge exchange with national and international collaborators
Your Profile
· A PhD in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering or related disciplines
· A proven experience in process engineering; meaning design, commission, optimisation of a whole process based on R&D’s specifications
· Strong knowledge of wastewater treatment or biotechnologies (esp. micropollutant removal technologies)
· Advanced competence in laboratory and analytical work is necessary
· At least 3 published journal papers in top 25% international journals of the field, and/or a strong experimentation background and experience of working in industries or university laboratories
· Fluent written and verbal communication skills in German and English are mandatory
