  Job Description

  The Department of Dermatology at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine, has an exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Associate. The Postdoctoral Associate performs scientific research and studies under the supervision of managing staff. Moreover, the Postdoctoral Associate promotes institutional recognition through literal contributions to the scientific community.

  The duties and responsibilities for this position may include, but are not limited to:

  Plan and conduct assigned and/or original research projects autonomously while working collaboratively with University of Miami faculty, staff, postdocs and students.

  Perform basic molecular biology and cell biology techniques such as nucleic acid extraction and manipulation, PCR, RT-PCR, Western blot analysis, immunostaining, and cell culture.

  Maintain accurate records of research findings and the analysis of results.

  Assist in the preparation of manuscripts for publications and grant preparations.

  Present research findings at professional meetings.

  Minimum Qualifications

  Ph.D. or other doctoral degree in a life science field of study or M.D. Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data. Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems. Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.

  Patient safety is a top priority.
