  德国科隆大学博士后职位

The University of Cologne offers a wide range of scientific disciplines and internationally leading profile areas organized in six faculties. At the Faculty of Medicine 1.800 scientists are engaged in research, ranging from basic sciences to clinical application, as well as teaching and health care. Together with the University Hospital Cologne the faculty maintains 58 clinics, research institutes and centres. 3.400 students study in this dynamic and innovative environment. The Faculty of Medicine and the University Hospital Cologne are embedded in the scientifically highly active Rhine region. They have strong contacts to and alliances with the surrounding universities and non-university research institutions guaranteeing scientific excellence in research and teaching.

The research group of Prof. Dr. med. Martin Sos (Molecular Pathology, Institute of Pathology and Department of Translational Genomics) is seeking applications for a full-time

  Postdoctoral fellow (f/m/x)

within the CRC1399 “Mechanisms of Drug Sensitivity and Resistance in Small Cell Lung Cancer”. This position is available immediately for 24 months (Third-party funding according to WissZeitVG) with a possibility of extension.

The main goal of our research efforts is to provide breakthrough medicine for cancer patients; our projects are centered on the functional understanding of molecular processes that modulate the response to cancer therapies. We employ state-of-the-art gain/loss-of-function experiments, genome and transcriptome sequencing as well as animal experiments to capture the cellular networks that modulate these processes. We combine cutting-edge computational biology methods with innovative molecular cell biology methods in order to make an impact on the development of novel cancer therapies.

  Your profile:

  ·         Doctoral degree in a relevant field (e. g. biology, medicine, bioinformatics)

  ·         Profound knowledge of cancer cell biology

  ·         Prior research experience, documented by peer-reviewed publications in a relevant field

  ·         High degree of excitement and the ability to drive projects independently

  ·         Team spirit as well as excellent communication skills

  We offer:
