  西奈山伊坎医学院生物物理学/生物工程/计算系统生物学/基因组学/表观基因组学/转录组学博士后招聘

We are a dynamic, international and integrated team of scientists, composed of bench-lab researchers, computer scientists, physicists, and engineers. Our interdisciplinary computational, experimental, device group is engaged in the DARPAECHO project, the MoTrPAC consortium, the PRiME project, and other large-scale NIHand DARPA programs.

We seek three highly motivated postdoctoral fellows:

  a)      Biophysics/Bioengineering

A fellow to study device development for nanopore epigenetic assays and other biophysical assays and devices such as AFM. The successful candidate should have a PhD in biophysics, bioengineering, chemistry, physics, engineering, or a closely related discipline and experience. Experience with Oxford Nanopore, micro- and nano- fluidics; molecular and cellular biology; semiconductor processing; MEMS; micro- and nano- devices; low-noise, phase-sensitive lock-in measurements; programming in MATLAB and LABVIEW and working knowledge of biophysical and bio-characterization techniques (such as AFM, HPLC, LC-MS and functional assays) are desirable.

  b)     Computational Systems Biology

Two fellow positions are available, one to develop methods for the identification of molecular fingerprints of physical activity in humans and animal models, the other to investigate epigenetic signatures of infection and chemical exposure using multi-omics and single cell blood datasets. The postdoctoral associates will be key members involved in many aspects of multi-omics data analysis and the development of methods for data integration. The successful candidates will collaborate closely with the other sites to coordinate analysis and data dissemination efforts. The ideal candidates will have a strong research background, good quantitative and programming abilities, along with a demonstrated interest in applying these skills to problems in biology. Experience with NGS data and experience in machine learning would also be considered a strong positive.

  c)      Genomics, Epigenomics, and Transcriptomics

A fellow to perform experiments and advance techniques to identify and investigate genomics, epigenomics, and transcriptomic changes in pituitary cells (primary and cell culture) at the single-cell (SC) and population levels. Preferred candidates will have some experience in, or strong desire to learn these techniques (SC RNAseq, SCATAC, library preparations, qPCR). The fellow will be expected to play a leading role in the design and execution of projects, writing publications, and presenting data and results at weekly lab meetings. A PhD in Molecular/Cellular Biology or related field is preferred. Extensive knowledge of molecular biology principles, proficient in standard molecular biology techniques including PCR and DNA sequencing, and cell culture are desired. Single-cell techniques and animal handling are a plus.

Interested candidates should forward a CV and short description of research interests together with the names and addresses of three references to: angelo.gaitas@mssm.edu for the Biophysics/Bioengineering position, elena.zaslavsky@mssm.edu for the Computational Systems Biology position, and frederique.ruf-zamojski@mssm.edu for the Genomics, Epigenomics, and Transcriptomics position.
